Derun Steel Co., Ltd. in Heyuan has announced plans to invest 6 billion yuan in Phase III of its short-process special steel project, including the construction of a 200-ton electric arc furnace and a 1680mm hot rolling strip line, scheduled for implementation in 2026.

Upon completion, the project is expected to add 1.8 million tonnes of annual capacity, generate an additional 10 billion yuan in industrial output, and create approximately 1,000 jobs. The expansion will further strengthen Derun’s product mix, including special stainless steel and high-grade bearing steel, supporting industrial growth in northern Guangdong.
